Grapefruit & Shrimp Salad

This salad is, originally with a pomelo, but I got curious about using grapefruit instead. Did this twice and Kokobear enjoyed it much! So I feel like sharing it here. Check this very simple salad!

We will need:
  • A handful of medium sized shrimps (around 1/4 kg) skinned or if not yet, I'll explain how to do it.
  • 3 grapefruits
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 carrots
  • 1 green apple
  • Apple cider, fish sauce, lemon, sugar, garlic, onion, chili,

Instructions

Shrimp
  1. Marinate Shrimp (skinned) - use 2 spoons of apple cider sauce, 1 spoon of fish sauce and a table spoon of chopped garlic.
  2. After around 10-15 minutes of marination, fry your shrimp in a hot pan with oil. Use the remaining marinade sauce and let it dry. Take off the shrimp is fried.

Cucumber, Carrots & Apple
  1. Slice apple, carrots & cucumber in a match sticks size.
  2. Peel your grapefruits & divide each slice/segment into 2-3 pieces.
  3. Mix them all.
    3. Mix all ingredients, the vegetables, apple and shirmp and add sauce.

Add the sauce:
  • Use one lemon - use its juice instead of apple cider,
  • add 1 spoon fish sauce,
  • another half teaspoon of garlic,
  • half tea spoon sugar and
  • half onion chopped, (optional)
  • 1 small chili (Optional, if you want your sauce with a little kick)

Plate it as desired :)

Tip: If your shrimps are fresh and not yet skinned, simply boil a water and boil your shrimp for a minute or once it turns orange.. Take it off and start peeling.

Enjoy this simple salad good for 2!
